The single „Told Me“ by the St. Gallen electronica duo Paraphon, released on July 22 on all streaming platforms, is the ideal accompaniment for dancing through summer nights. The song conveys the feeling of freedom that comes when you completely let go and let yourself drift with the music. Thus, „Told Me“ becomes a hymn to enjoying the moment and switching off from everyday life. Lines like „Dance and cry and dance until fine“ capture this feeling in words.

With the help of the percussion-heavy beat and a playful bassline, „Told Me“ gets your legs moving. For the first time a funky guitar joins the synthesizer sounds typical for Paraphon. And when various rhythms meet in the finale after a dramatic build-up, there’s no stopping the dance floor.

Bio

The Swiss electronica duo Praphon was born out of a shared love and fascination for synthesizers. Exploring the sound worlds of analog and digital synthesizers and drum machines is the driving force behind the duo’s songs. Sound for sound, interwoven worlds between synth-pop and electronica emerge and inspire the listener to daydream and dance along.

Thanks to lots of synths (and cables), Paraphon’s songs find their way onto the stage without the help of a computer. Instead of pressing the play button on the laptop, the sounds are brought to life on the spot at the synthesizers.
